Summer 2016: Santorini, Greece

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness."
 - Mark Twain

Hello.  How have you been?

To be quite frank I came back from my lovely vacation cocoon of bliss and within days was knocked out by the maelstrom that is our current state of world affairs.  I really was not prepared. But can you ever be? Do you think that there are more terrible things happening in the world now than there was before or does it just seem that way because we have so many more ways to transmit information in this century? I think that there is nothing really new under the sun. Back in the day however there were no 24 hour news channels invested in spreading dread.

So here we are in this little corner of the Internet with some of my vacation photos. They make me happy and I hope they do the same for you.  Thank you very much to all of you who visit the blog and those who take the time to leave comments. I wish you all well.

P.S.  Yes that is a donkey :)

  1. I used to be so afraid of getting on a donkey or a horse when I was younger. But look at you. You look so carefree. There's nothing new under the sun, gir! Only CNN that breaks the same news 3 days a week.

    1. I was a little freaked out only because we were up so high but there was no need to worry because the donkeys were pros!

  2. Greece is so beautiful! Loving the donkey pic. I agree the world has so much unnecessary terror. Its been a long time since I actually sat down and watched the news which can be both a good and bad thing (I listen to the radio sometimes). Your vacation pictures do make me happy - take care :)!

    1. I'm glad you liked them. I'm old school and actually prefer to read my news so I can skip over the parts I don't want to read.

  3. Santorini is high on my bucket list of places I would love to visit; it's so, so beautiful. I enjoyed your vacation pictures and I agree with you that the transmission of news 24 hours via TV and social media makes it all worse these days.

    1. Thank you Beauty. I think we should all take regular breaks from the those 24 hour news channels.
