I have completely regressed to wearing nothing but black, white and grey. All that talk earlier in the year about adding more color to my wardrobe has gone out the window.  Maybe it's laziness, maybe it's some strange channeling of the grey and white Greek streets I saw on my recent vacation. I really can't say for sure what it is. Whatever the cause, the urge to dress like a bedazzled emperor penguin has consumed me.

Speaking of consumed. I got two words for one thing for you. Ready.... sweatshirts. Sweatshirts!!. I don't know who brought them back, but I am forever in their debt. I'll have you know they were always "in" for me but the choices now are amazing. I found this houndstooth patterned one on the clearance rack at Target. I have my eye on this one as well.

I mean how can you not love a garment that you can in theory (you'll never be able to prove whether that happened), sleep in, lounge around in, and then wear it to work.

Some(not you my dear non-judgemental readers) might look upon my current sartorial state as lacking in inspiration and creativity.  I would like those folks to heed the words of my spirit animal Baby Seymour below.

I jest, I joke, I kiiiid. Ha ha ha ha. I love that little guy.

Until next time, keep those feet happy!

A England- Guinevere

Now that the temperatures have started to dip a little bit I'm finding myself drawn more to moody, deep nail polish colors, like this greyed out lilac creme from A England.

I'm wearing two coats plus a salon top coat in the pictures above. It was opaque with one coat, but two gave me that thickness that I like with a creme polish. Drying time was normal and wear time for me with this brand is about a week.

A-England as the name suggests is an English nail polish company.  Guinevere was part of their Mythical collection, which was based on the story of Camelot, King Arthur, Lancelot and the Knights of the Round Table. If you recall how things turned out I think this color is perfect for our  beautiful, but ultimately doomed love crossed Guinevere. The polishes in the Mythical collection had names like King Arthur, Lancelot and Excalibur, which I almost bought just to be able to rightfully say... I hold Excalibur.. but I didn't. I got Merlin instead.

Sadly A-England no longer ships internationally but they can be found HERE.

What's on your tips these days? Are you still rocking the brights?

Santorini, Greece 36.4167° N, 25.4333° E

Although Paros was my favorite of the Greek Islands I have to admit that Santorini was hands down the most picturesque.  Santorini's blue domed buildings are usually the first pictures you see in any google search for the Greek Islands and on any Greek Isle calendar.

Santorini is actually made up of five islands formed from volcanic eruptions. The volcanoes are why the sand on the islands is black.  The main island-Thira is where the pictures below were taken.  In addition to being one of the most beautiful places in the world, Santorini is renowned for its white wine, cherry tomatoes and white eggplant( who knew??).

Another surprising tidbit from our tour guide was that despite being surrounded by the Aegean Sea in every direction, there is no fresh water on the island. Their fresh water is imported from neighboring Crete and Naxos. There are also two desalination plants on the island.

If jewelry is your thing Sanotrini(Thira) is for you. The tour guide apologized to the men in the group in advance.  I had a co-worker tell me when I got back that her husband lost her while she tried on jewelry at one of the many boutiques on the island. He said he looked for her for two hours. She told me it felt like it had only been ten minutes.  Having been there I can see how easy it would be to lose track of time as you explore all of the shiny, glittering wares for sale in the store fronts that line that steep winding streets on either side.

My humble suggestions are to wear comfortable shoes, and have a firm spending budget :)

No more than 15

I have been very busy in my personal and work life lately. When I only have about fifteen minutes to prepare something, it usually goes like this.

1. Wash and cut asparagus spears
2. Add garlic and onions and sautee with olive oil or butter for three minutes(Save some of the garlic and onion for the second part of the dish)

I usually get this at Target

3. In a separate pan add a packet of veggie chicken

4. Add some jerk seasoning(this tastes good on everything, trust me), teriyaki sauce and the left over garlic and onion from the asparagus to the veggie chicken

5. Stir-fry for about five minutes or until browned

6. Combine the two and voila, lunch is served

I had a friend who told me this type of meal was more assembling than cooking. I didn't argue. I just never assembled anything for him.

What's your go to quick meal?
