Quando a Roma

Yes the Of the Comely triumvirate has returned safe and sound, and we want to give a big vielen dank to the pilots that made that happen. There was some talk about extending our stay but we got word that we did not win the lotto (who in Idaho keeps winning??) so we have returned.

You are correct if you guessed from the title of this post that we were in Italy. The first stop was the eternal city,  Rome. This was my first time in Rome so I was in full blown tourist mode as I made my way around with my cameras, maps and Rick Steves audioguides. I covered a lot of ground and the pics above are from some of my favorite sites.

I found Rome to be a very bustling, energetic city. It was HOT. I did a ton of walking which worked out well because I also did a LOT of eating. The people were friendly, the sites were magnificent and maybe it's me, but the water there was the best I've ever tasted. According to local legend, if you throw a coin into Trevi fountain(2nd pic) you are ensured a return to Rome. I did so now it's certain that I'll be back.

I'm in the process of catching up on all of your blogs, and going through all the photos I took. I have more I'd like to share so I'll be doing some more posts of the trip soon.
